The Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme is a government initiative that allows foreigners to live in Malaysia on a long-term social visit pass. It is one of the most popular residency-by-investment programmes in Southeast Asia.

What is MM2H?

MM2H is a multiple-entry social visit pass that allows successful applicants and their dependants to live, work (in certain categories), and study in Malaysia. The pass is typically valid for 5–10 years and is renewable.

Key Requirements (2024)

Applicants must demonstrate a minimum offshore monthly income of RM 40,000, maintain a fixed deposit of RM 1,000,000, and show liquid assets of at least RM 1,500,000. A security bond and medical insurance are also required.

Benefits of MM2H

MM2H holders can purchase property in Malaysia, bring their spouse and children as dependants, hire a domestic helper, and enjoy duty-free import of personal car or purchase one locally.
